A key part of PCDworks’ “DNA” is our immersion in scientific development and experimentation. Many times, in order to make a truly breakthrough product, we have to push the limits of scientific possibilities. To this end, we provide our customers a great depth of scientific and laboratory capabilities in the form of facilities, personnel, expertise, and consultants.

AREAS OF FOCUS
While our capabilities span many industries and scientific disciplines, the following are areas of especially high focus.

Biological and Biomedical
We grow and develop bacteria to perform specific tasks. The biological laboratory contains a full suite of relevant equipment such as incubators, centrifuges, freezers, scintillations counters, HPGC, MS and microscopes. In addition, having developed several medical products through FDA submission, we have the expertise to bring our background to bear on biomedical products.

Electromagnetic
Another area of focus is motor development. While this typically falls more into the engineering category, the motor design laboratory also includes tools to create new classes of motors both rotary and linear, such as custom flux meters and probes, hysteresis brakes, coil winding equipment, and electromagnetic multiphysics analysis software.

MEMS
We provide intensive MEMS device design, construction, and testing capabilities to our clients interested in making cutting edge devices from this exploding field. This includes our MEMS multiphysics design tools, electronic assembly, instrumentation, and measurement equipment, and custom test fixtures.

Optics
Light is one of the best carriers of both energy and information. Whether it be high powered lasers,spectroscopic detection of bacteria, range-gated and multispectral imaging, or Terahertz studies - we’ve got the know how and the equipment to bring cutting edge optical design to your problem.
