"Not getting enough ‘umph’ out of your brainstorming? We generate hundreds of concepts, pick the best ones, and turn them into working models in a single week."

One of the most important steps to solving a problem or creating a breakthrough new product is generating a strong conceptual solution.

PCDworks delivers a highly focused and rigorous ideation process with proven results.

Utilizing intensive research and a cross-functional team of experts, PCDworks has established a reputation for helping clients quickly solve their most difficult problems and create exciting new products.

With a masters degree in psychology, PCDworks founder and principal Mike Rainone has developed a unique set of exercises to defeat mental roadblocks and “trick” participants into solving seemingly impossible problems and creating truly “of the box” solutions.

We tailor all of our ideation sessions to meet client specific needs, and build a customized set of exercises and highly skilled team for each new ideation effort. The agendas include activities such as functional decomposition and rapid proof of concept calculations, and the teams include client team members from a wide range of disciplines, 3rd party experts, and PCDworks staff.

So, whether you’re looking for a Simple Ideation Session (2-3 days) or full scale help from Idea to Prototype Session (4-5 days), PCDworks will provide the team, the training and the technology to meet your needs.

Simple Ideation Session (2 -3 Days)

Each PCDworks brainstorming session begins with a Problem Statement, which has been developed with the client prior to commencement of the session.

Day One is typically an open ended examination of the problem, during which we generate as many ideas as possible. We prepare technology packets for reference, and develop creative exercises to stimulate a flow of ideas. In most cases, we generate over 150 viable concepts on an intensive first day.

Days Two and Three are dedicated to refining and filtering the ideas generated on Day One, with the goal of identifying those concepts that best meet the criteria for a solution. At the end of Day Three, 15-20 ideas are typically ranked and ready for proof-of-concept testing.

Idea to Prototype Sessions (4 - 5 days)

Clients often choose to take the ideation process one step further, and move directly into an intensive follow up in PCDworks versatile on-site Prototype Lab. There, we have the ability to quickly build and test just about any concept – producing physical, functional prototypes of selected ideas from the ideation efforts. Clients are often astounded by the take-away component of these week-long sessions. Fifteen to twenty concepts will be tested and refined multiple times, resulting in three to four actual proof-of-concept working models. The result is often a highly successful solution to the problem at hand, and the potential for an exciting new product.
